And Dana recommends to mount the transom plate 1/4" above the bottom. Then the plate is 1/2" above the bottom.

Eddie, that seems to be the recommendation when mounting them parallel to the hull. But when mounted horizontal it seems like it depends how far inward you mount them.

Thanks for updating this thread! How close is your boat to being complete? Please keep us updated how that mounting location/position works. I was planning on a little higher and slightly more outward but it was just a guess.

This is about as far I am at right now.

The hull is completely empty besides transom assy and transom cleats...

Well I look forward to your updates. Just curious what made you decide on that mounting location?

The same reason I modified the bottom, I want to try something "new" and mounting the tabs in the strakes seems like the best location since the tabs will get good leverage when they are aligned to the strakes.

I'm rigging it with one single purpose - racing.

Makes sense. Thanks for the info.

That's correct. I guess I should have prefaced my post with that. Height will depend on several factors if you are mounting them parallel to the water instead of parallel to the hull bottom.

Tomas that looks great! Does the drive hit the tabs at full left/right?
