anybody know of a way to repair corroded aluminum intakes, can only weld so much..wonder if there is a way to pour something all thru the water passage ?

you mean internal passages that were used for heating the intake in cold weather ? i would think you would want to simply seal those off... for the rear cross over after you weld up and resurface the faces you could bead blast and epoxy the passage them but ive nevere seen them rot there... did yours ?

no coolant passages, front from sise to side under thermostat area, not mine working on a friends 525SC

Years back, I had a Weiand 177 manifold that was corroded badly. We ground out the corrosion and filled it w/JB Weld then machined the surface flat. Worked prefectly.

there are also 2 part systems that are used to seal the wings of light airchraft where the wing itself is used as a fuel tank. quite amazing stuff. and made specifically to grab and hang on to al.

if i was going to use epoxy or a substance like the JB , i would look for the ones that are al filled so the thermal expansion properties are similar.

j b weld is the stuff.i just finished my intake on the 10meter.both intakes around the front t-stait housing and the water passage was badly corroded and cracked.the important thing about alumium is to prep it good first,something like aluma-bright.and do the repair in a heated place thats warm.the stuff is easy to sand and drill,and have used it around gas w/no problems.
