Water Flow Restrictors ??
Discovered by accident (ok, old age) that if I leave the raw water intake valve part way closed (forgot to re-open after flushing) that the motors will build some more reasonable heat in them. Water came up to 130 (normal 110) and oil to 190 (normal 160). I was only running at cruise, didn't run at full to see if they would "stay" there or not as I knew something was different and didn't want to break anything until I found out the cause.
Does leave me wondering though if I could get a little warmer temps by putting some flow restrictors in the intake water outlet without oveheating things at full power.
Anyone tried using flow restrictors to adjust their water temperature? System has no recirculating pump or thermostat, direct flow through.
