Hey fellas, thought I would paste the comments from the engine builder below on the cam and heads. Now this engine builder mostly does drag cars etc but has done marine applications before. Cheers pat

"the most understanding spec there for you is basic operating range...3000-6000rpm. not your requirements. you'd like about 1500-5500. 114 degree lobe separation is a top end grind. a compcams unit for that application would be about 106 degrees, producing bottom end torque.*i never liked or understood them. they were popular 30 yrs. ago and are now out of business"

Only correct part in his comments is the operating range. You want 12-14 degrees of lob seperation to prevent water reversion in the exhaust unless you are running completely dry exhaust and Crane is very much in business today. Look up Comp Cams extreme marine cams and see what the lobe seperations are. Im sure you won't see any at 106.
