Default Leaf Blower/Inflator

Hey Guys!

Kinda off topic "here", but, I thought I would throw it out here:

In the summer I have a little niece who comes to the cottage for a few weeks and I have a large "SportsStuff" raft/floating island that I inflate along with a few other water toys for her to use.

I have been using a compressor to inflate the stuff, but, it takes FOREVER. I recently heard of a guy who used a leaf blower to inflate his stuff and apparantly it works much faster

Anyone know where I can find an adapter or ????? to use to inflate this stuff? I really only use the stuff when she is there [once or twice a year] so I didn't want to be bothered buying a "real" inflator designed for water toys, I also already have a good leaf blower there that I never use that works fine.

ANY input would be greatly appreciated.....Even if its just to tell me I am a cheap SOB who should just buy a proper pump! LOL

Thanks!
Michael

Go to the hardware store and make one out of PVC plastic. They have all the fittings to reduce the size down.

Michael,

I would just like to mention that some gas powered blowers actually route the engine exhaust out through the blower tube. If that is the type you have, I dont know if you would want to use it or not ??

Electric blower obviously not an issue.

I have never seen a blower route engine exhaust through discharge air. I would think that would heat the air and most likely melt the plastic tube as these blowers are usually at WOT for very long periods.

I have only ever seen them have the exhaust come out of the muffler on the side of the jug.

Has anyone tried using a shop vac? Might be a little easier as long as you have ac power...

Yes, I have heard a shop vac or even regular vacuum will work too, I might try the shop vac idea, since the little shop vac I have for cleaning the boat has is "reversible"

I will try and find some fittings from Home Depot and see what I can whip up, Thanks guys!

A nice shop vac makes this job easy. Inflating is a no brainer, but I use it to deflate also.
