Default Cold air intake

I have extremely tight issue between my flame arrestor and the back of my seat I was wondering if I could make a sealed cover over the carb and duct 2 3" tubes to it. Would this be considered a flame arrestor or am I over thinking this I can only fit a stock 330 arrestor on and the seat is blocking 1/4 of it. The motor should be between 430 and 470hp.

Agreed -- the flame arrestor and the BACK of your seat? That doesn't make sense to me in my head, need a pic.

Its a formula 223ss the sundeck and seat go up as one right where the back of the seat meets the bottom of the seat it right over the front float bowl I will try to climb in their and snap a shot I have it mocked up as we speak theirs really no other option to fix the problem

Hmmm....I can sorta picture is now (or at least understand), my brother had a late 80's 223 but I don't remember it being super tight, but that was a while ago...

What changed that it won't fit now?
