Default edelbrock alum head opinion

hi all in the process of rebuilding my old 454, stroking it and have a chance to get a set of these heads at a good price(new, but never used) - any feed back, pros or cons....dont have the flow # yet from seller but should soon

i have installed them on several marine engines,they are better than stock gm heads and with aluminum,you can rwn more compression,because aluminum dissipater heat much better than cast iorn.they also flow way better than stock gm heads,and they are priced right.i say go for them.

had a set on my 454...they flow decent numbers,according to my local hi-perf guy...engine made 515hp,with other mods...i was very pleased with the performance

They don't like salt water on a Gen V VI block, Water passages will not line up ( round hole on the head , oblong hole on the block ) salt water sits on top of head gasket and eats up uncoated alum.

How do the water passages line up on the gen IV blocks ??

bottom line is ,no bare aluminum head likes salt water,no matter what block they are on.

ok so do the different gernerations of blocks have different water passages- if so i assume you will have to get the correct generation of head and match up accordingly.....

If I'm correct I believe the heads will work but you have to be sure you have the correct gasket. I believe you use the gasket for the block you have. What block do you have?
