Hey folks,

I have an aluminum magnum manifold with the inserts in the cooling passages. The aluminum has corroded a bit but the bronze still looks sound. This is what it looked like when it came out of the parts washer and media blast. Take a look at the pic.

The sealing surface looks good too.

Would you use this or trash it?

That's the way most of them looked brand new, poor casting but fully functional.

I thought it looked sound. What would be a good product to fill the gaps in the aluminum prior to paint?

I am going with closed cooling so in reality I don't need an intake with the bronze inserts. ...I own it so I guess I'll use it though.

I had one of the 2 on my boat looked like that. I just used some JB Weld to build it up and make it smooth.

jb or marine tex. no water leaks? no vacuum leaks? is it paid for?

Poor quality control in the casting department as many look like that- should be no problem.
