Now I know why, I stay away from posting anything. Anything you say; someone wants to find fault in it. Panther, found one of the sites, that stated the same thing I found almost word for word. I noticed full groove bearings and started searching for answers. Before that happened I called my Clevite rep. and questioned him about them. Wanted to find some written facts about them. I have always used 180 grooved upper only, with no bearing issues or excessive wear even at rebuild time.
I'am done with this thread and posting on it, I have better things to do.

Is the HX also cut narrow like the rest of the new clevite 77 series rod bearings?

As for the rest of this disaster of a thread. If you took a vote of ACTUAL engine builders, that do it as a profession and not just on the internet, and asked how many guys would run a full grooved main bearing in a non priority main system with big ditches ground in the crank and a conventional oil pump I don't think you'd find a single guy that would consider building it that way. Also, for those lobes to look like that there wasn't enough spring rate and probably insufficient pushrods. IMO

The next time I quote something, that are not exact words from my mouth, I will keep that in mind. By the way did you find that after or before the post. I did say, do a search and you will find the same thing as in the beginning, so not to mislead anyone.
