Default New boat to me what oil and drive oil to use??

I live in michigan and getting ready to get the boat out for summer. I just bought the boat last year and am doing first oil changes and drive oil changes on it and wondering what to run?? It is a 94 Scarab 29ft with twin 350 with alpha one gen 2 out drives. I like to buy my oil at walmart if possible because its cheeper but didn't know if they carry anything that will work or not this being only my second boat. Please tell me good brands and weights to run. Same with lower unit oil. I am planning on doing oil changes, drive oil changes, fuel filters.

I run castrol 20w50 oil in my 383 stroker in my mud/sand truck will this work?

You can use the Quicksilver High Performance gear lube at Walmart. It is the same as Merc HP gear lube and about 1/3 less $$.

I like the Castrol 20W50...especially if the motors have some time on them. There is an argument for not switching to syn if the motors have a lot of fossil oil time on them...stick with what works for you.

The Amsoil is a good product...Teague swears by it. I'm taking a long hard look at Lucas for my re-built Bravo's...you might consider Lucas...all their stuff is "Top Drawer".

I like Amsoil, it won't break down as fast as conventional oil. As for oil weight I like straight 40. You need to remember the W stands for winter weight. We don't use our boats in the winter so there is no need for multi-grade oils in a boat. I like Amsoil in the drive as well but as stated the quicksilver HP oil at Walmart works well too.
