Jet help

I run a ZZ502 in my 22 Eliminator Daytona with 325 AFR heads 104cc, good size cam (don't have cam specs in front of me) with a Holley 950 HP. Every since I put the heads on this motor its been a real b**ch to jet. I'm running to fast to turn the key off at WOTand getting color in the plugs with the gas we have this day in age sucks. I thought maybe somebody may have a suggestion.

after a hard run, come to a normal stop, pull some plugs, clean soot of with some lacquer thinner, the coloring of the plugs,if their is any, will not be washed away from the thinner.if its white, jet it up and try it again.

With modern fuels, it is unlikely that you will see hardly any color on the porcelain. Fuels burn very clean and don't leave any color. You are better off to look at the base circle of the plug.

Factory jets for a 950 hp are 78s Holley claims to only go up or down two sizes max for auto. Is that true for marine also?

Holley told me today to use 84s square that should get me real close. Does that sound logical ?

I am running Holley 800 Dp 78p 91s 6.5 power valve up front. I spin them up to 5,200.

When my motor was stock that's about the same combo I ran with my 850 but now I turn 6000 rpm and I go white to black with no in between. The plugs stay white till I jet so high the motor falls on it's face.

mike tkach 03-15-2012 08:54 PM

you need to change the air bleeds.

How do you know witch way to go on those. I have the hole set but don't know how to set them up.
