Is this good or not. I have a hand operated one right now and hate the dang thing. Last year I only was able to get about 90% of the oil out and it took forever.

I've used a Jabsco electric pump for the last 10 + years. Has never let me down.

Been there with the cheap pumps. Frustrating and too easy to make a mess. Do yourself a favor and buy the Jabsco pump. I've had mine for close to 20 yrs.

One mod I did was install a longer hose (just used heater hose) and installed an old straight spark plug boot on the end of the hose. It fits nice and snug on the dipstick tube.

Napa sells one that you pump with your hand like two or three pumps and it creates a vacum in it and it has a straw that goes down the dip stick tube and it takes me about five min to suck all eight quarts out of my 502mpi and im done its about $75.00 at Napa. I have used it for a couple of years now and I now change my oil more than I should cause its so easy.
