what drive you plan on running?? keep in mind that theirs another 7-15 k if you want to keep a drive on the boat with that kind of power..

Zeke, you might want to get a hold of Articfriends on OSO and ask him how much HP it takes to make a 272 run, and how it handles the speed.

Ive read alot of his posts and im not gonna go to the extreme he did. But what hes done to a 272 is impressive!
Im thinking 750-800 hp and go to an imco, or a bmax drive. Or possibly get mr gadgets to build one.
I have an HP transom assembly and imco full hydraulic single ram steering and never see a wave over 2 feet

650hp normally aspirated puts me at 75 ish
950 blown put me at 92 (lite) and 88-89 with 4 250 lb guys, full tank of gas and 2 full coolers
1057 put me at 95-97 in most conditions
1115hp made me see god :evilb:at 100 mph and I am sure there is more there but lost my nerve/guts to do it too many times!
Handles pretty good for a POS Baja, twin ram full hydraulic steering made it night and day better!

im dealing with Poker~N~Run on his 581 hes very helpful to deal with and used to own a 272 which also helps. Ill worry about the drive after the motors in the boat.

You better worry about full hydraulic steering too.

I have single ram imco full hydraulic I installed last year, and an HP transom assembly
