I am also on the fence about adding low water pick up nose cones, I talked to Imco peops & they said without a doubt DO NOT weld the nose cones on. I was told the lower could be distorted & you might not even know it.

Still wondering if i need to gring them to fit all the way on till the upper notch and lower v slot is all the way in or just put them on as they are now i have a 1" gap in the upper notch and lower slot. Also some say fill the cone with epoxy and stuff it on is this the best way. Thanks

the best way to install them is to just epoxy them on,, you fill the whole nose cone with epoxy to trap the water out of it,,if the nose cone is hollow inside water will get traped behind it and if the boat is stored in doors in a non heater garage the water will freeze and push the nose cones off the drive..

So you fill the cone with epoxy, then epoxy around the edge of cone, smooth out then what do you use over the epoxy to finish,, ive heard all metal works well, also what primer and paint seems to hold up good. Thanks
