Default installing super chillers?

What is the proper installation of Super Chillers. What i mean is do you use the existing inlet and strainer and tap into it or do you run entire new plumbing and create another inlet. What about the water pump is one enough or do you need something different?

Any experts out there on this subjest

Thanks

Put another adjustable pickup on the transom , run it through the cooler and then dump overboard ...

I run offshore pick-ups for the engines and feed the chillers using the drive pick-ups . Both systems have a independent sea strainer . You do not want to feed the chiller @ idle ... it will cause a over rich condition and snotty idle . I run pressure regulators set @ 5 psi with dumps over board .

I run The Blower Shop coolers with cupronickel cores, plumbed mine off the extra sea strainer port and a -4 inlet off the bell housing for some water flow at idle. Keeps water in the core so it doesn't get a drastic temperature change once the boat gets on plane. Never any problems with this setup.

How long do the coolers last in salt water. Assuming a clean water flush is done after usage do they last 4 or 5 years or ?
