I've got 305/70-16 load range c Goodyear Wranglers on my 97 Tahoe. With 16X8 Eagle Alloys. Got 53000 miles on them and still have 3/8" tread. Good all around traction and handling(for an SUV) . Tow a 29' Formula every weekend and somtimes during the week too.

I have a Tahoe also, you can get the oem tire (Long Trail) in a LT rating, give about 1000 lbs more rating( per tire). I just bought a set from Sam's club, around $ 110 each. I like theses tires because they seem to last forever and even with alot of miles on them they don't roar.
