How connect solar charger to dual batteries?

How connect solar charger to dual batteries?
What is the proper way to connect a solar charger (or any trickle charger) to a dual battery setup? Should I clip both leads to the terminals on one of the batteries and leave the battery selector switch on 'ALL'? Is there a better method?
