Default What holds?

What holds the main shaft inside the seawater pump? Took my 02 25 outlaw with 496mag out today for 1st run of season and the belt came off of motor. While trying to put belt back on I notice the pulley and shaft to seawater pump had came out of the pump causing belt fly off. I removed the pump from motor and took it apart and don't see any thing that holds shaft in the pump. What keeps it from coming out like it did?

Thanks,
Mack

you need a new mount body.its a press fit and corrosion has loosened it up.

There is a retainer clip that goes under the front seal. I can post a pic if needed. I just happen to have one sitting on a bench waiting for a front seal.

If that came out, you probably have other issues inside the pump.

Sorry about your troubles Mack. How was the river?

I was close to getting our boat ready, but ran out of time. I'm hoping to get her in the water this week for a shakedown.

I didn't make it very far before my troubles started. It was a nice ride for about 30 sec. A buddy of mine went out Saturday and and said the river was in real good shape for this time of year.
