Weight distribution in the boat matters. Optimally, if you plan to do this often - you want the boat to be able to run FLAT on top of the waves, with Neutral tabs and Neutral drives. There will definitely be a "minimum speed" below which you will hammer your 'nads off. Above that speed, it will still beat on you, but it will do so "flat".

You may not be able to move enough stuff around to get the weight dist correct for doing this.

If you have to run extreme trim (either extreme negative or extreme positive) to get the boat to run flat, then you need to adjust weight. It's better to have to run positive drive trim and neutral tabs versus neutral drive trim and negative tabs. We're talking excessive amounts here, not a few degrees.

and yes, if your boat has stuff not anchored down well enough to do this, then don't do this.
