Default Flex plate/flywheel

Went to NAPA today to get a flywheel for my 454 Gen VI, they told me and showed me that the Gen Vi uses a Flex Plate vice a Flywheel. Is this correct. I don't have a transmission on my boat.

ig,
I dont think that NAPA would be the place to be looking for a flywheel. Unless you can give those guys "year make and model" they will have a hard time figuring it out. If you remeind me on Friday, I can send you the Pioneer part number and maybe they can cross it over to whatever they carry.

If you are stuck with a flex plate you can take it and a flywheel and have a motor balancer make them match.
