Default Faria fuel gauge or sending unit question

Well after a few hours of time I am out of solutions. The problem is my Faria fuel gauge will not work. All the other gauges have power including the fuel gauge. I tested the gauge at the console and when I touch the pink and black wire together it maxes out the gauge. The kicker is when I touch the pink and black wire together at the sending unit I get no reading at the gauge. Does this tell me the sending unit is bad or the wire is bad. I traced the wire all the way through and it seems to be in great shape I even re-spliced it at the connectors to be sure. Also if i take the sending unit out and rough wire it to the gauge at the console and pick up the float to read full would that be an accurate way of testing the sending unit? If it is in fact a bad sending unit is there a good place to buy a new one to match the OEM unit or better?

Ok got it figured out after three hours of testing everything but the ground since all the other gauges work I tried it anyway and sure enough that was the issue. Now all I have to do is figure out where the ground ends to check it any ideas on a 2001 Baja H2X where the fuel sending unit ground is posted? it would seem that it is seperate from all the other gauges obviously or it would work just fine like the rest.

Found two ground wires off the post on the back of the motor sure enough that was the problem.
