Default Water pressure relief valve placement?

Where are most people putting water pressure relief valves? Are you putting them off the sea strainer or are you putting them after the sea pump?

I am putting my relief after my cooler but before my block. I still want the volume of water to go through my cooler.

Most people with strainers run them before.

I am thinking about putting my after the coolers, but before the block also. I was wondering if it is put before the strainer do you need to wory about stuff getting into it and plugging it?

Thanks for the replies.

I just installed mine when I did my new motor. Mines after the cooler but before the crossover inlet. I bought the valve from a guy here on offshoreonly and the 1 1/4" valve fitting from CP Performance.

Put them after the sea strainer or you will get debris in them!
