half of one season and all of last season and half of this season, until now. Yeah we are going to do the repair again and I am going to get that salt away flush kit. Like I said before the rest of the head shows little to no corrosion, just this spot.

Boy, I think those are the worst I have ever seen around our area.
Usually they just get eaten up around the passage to the intake manifold. I know of several guys running aluminum heads in the same water and they are not having problems like that ? I will say that I think the Potomac and bay water is worse than ocean water as far as corrosion. Must be just the right mix
I mainly wanted to reply to your comment:
There are no water passages in the front in order to properly direct the cooling water. The water is pumped into the front of the block, travels to the rear and then up to the cylinder head. Back to the front through the head and out to the intake manifold thermostat crossover. If you drilled holes in the front it would allow some of the water to go straight up into the head and it would not properly cool the block or the heads.

At the front of the motor there are no water passages into the block from the head,(why is this) so the it seems the water and whatever debris is in it just sits there and eats the aluminum.
What would happen if I just added(drilled) my own water passage to let the water flow into the block.

Thanks for the refresher on the flow Bill- was trying to remember how that worked...I get the intake passage corrosion issue as well.
Don't see you much over at the Camaro site anymore...of course not a lot going on I suppose...
