Default total advance

running a 468 ci chevy w/ tunnel ram and two 660 Holleys,a big cam etc. Idles at 1400rpms and my total advance of 36 deg comes in at 1500. Engine is up and down 200 rpms from 3800 to 5500 consistently. Engine feels like it is pegging a rev limiter and its got me puzzled. if this makes any sense give me some ideas.

Id say that with a tunnel ram intake and two carbs on a naturally aspirated 468 inch motor with a big cam that your not making much torque and all the horsepower is going to be above 6000rpm. A setup like that needs to breath and it won't until rpm is up.

My .02, Eric

What are the cam numbers and what compression? I run my 13:1 compression 496 38 degrees locked in. It runs great and pulls real hard from 3500 to 6000. I run 6100 to 6300 at WOT. I am running a solid roller. Give more of the particulars on the motor combo. My rev limiter is set at 6800 rpm. You need to let that baby sing to take advantage of the tunnel ram and cam.
