I was told it would NEVER happen- Mefi burn has started selling a version of there software that allows EVERY person to have the capability to unlock there ECU. For years now everyone has been married to the select few "tuners" on here to have thes 555's tweaked. THis is big as there is SO MANY people running 555's witrh no real way to tune it except back and forth thru the mail. Now, is self tuning a good idea for EVERYONE , DEFINATELY NOT. It takes ALOT of learning and a tedious work to self tune , 10X's harder yet in the boat and you have to have a VERY good understanding of efi, a accurate 02 meter etc or you will make some real nice ashtrays out of your pistons in seconds. Thought I would post this link though now that I saw it, big thanks to Bob at mefi burn for the hard work, Smitty

I stand corrected- will NOT work on 555 DAMN!

No.
Smitty, the MEFI 5 and 6 are not related to the Motorola 555. There has been tuning software available for the later MEFI boxes for a while now. It is an excellent controller but is not used by Merc. There are some companies in Europe that offer piggy back style flashers and other options for programming the 555. If you search around on Google you can find some stuff.
