Default bravo x u joint part#

Hi, i have a 05 bravo x that i am trying to find the right u joints for. I called a parts place and gave them the serial # off of the drive and i got the wrong u joints. The ones they sent are tooo small. the ones i need have a cap size of 1.21" OD or close to that and the overall (from end of cap to end of cap) is about 3.36". Does anyone know the correct part # for this u joint? I spent almost $100 overnight air to have the wrong ones.

The experts will hopefully chime in but I know the newer X and XR drives have smaller u-joints.

Ya, i am sure the parts guy didnt screw up when i gave him the serial # because i called another parts place to conferm the part #. I wonder if the previous owner had it made stronger with bigger u joints and parts to go with?

Or maybe merc quit making the larger u-joints and superceded them to the newer smaller ones?

did you try merc alpha ones? 72 plymouth or dodge mid-size 318 automatic...then return to autozone if wrong size.

i have the same issue with some u-joints in one of my XR drives too...... every place I order one from (3 different places) sends me a u-joint that has been changed to a smaller one. I found a guy on e-bay that had the correct u-joint that I needed. Now if the Bravo and the Bravo XR share the same part number this guy can definatly help you, if not maybe he has parts for the Bravo as well. On ebay he goes by the name thisnthat32 . Here is a link to something else he is selling now on ebay, maybe you can contact him through this link. Hope this helps.......

That is what it looks like happened. The part number should be 865425A03 and is superceded from 862129A1, which I assume is the older, larger u-joints.

Are you buying the whole assy or just parts? If it's the whole assy I would use the new smaller one.
