A little bit of water leaks out of the silent choice shafts when the engine is running, I should replace those seals.

about a gallon over the course of a weekend if its just me and the wife climbing in and out of the boat.... seems like the bilge pump never stops when I've got the kids with us.

I don't think you have enough of a problem to justify pulling a motor, unless you have other upgrade you want to do. Oil leak does not sound like much either - just an annoyance. Could be a front or rear seal, oil drain plug, valve cover gasket, oil line, etc. I know they can put tracer dye that lights up under florescent light for AC systems - maybe there is something that can be added to motor oil to help find the source of the leak. My valve covers seep a little bit of oil from the filler caps and breathers. Check there too.

After rereading this, are you saying that you don't pull the bilge drain for 3 or 4 weekends because the boat is trailered and you are finding the water? If so, it is probably rainwater that is getting into the boat when it is covered on the trailer. That's the only way I have ever seen water on our boat.

I have to agree. Why on earth would a manufacturer drain an anchor locker into the bilge? That's a new one on me, for sure.

After a full weekend in the water I will have 3 gallons or so....not enough to kick on the auto bilge. I replaced bellows and steer pins this spring and it made the problem much better but I still have a leak somewhere. Engines are being pulled this winter and redoing the bilge to find the culprit
