Just quickly looked at this thread; really down on power. Why 1150 carbs!!!! who's math figured that one out? Cam selection: little small for me. Pricing; way over the top. It wasn't even 620 corrected it was 617. If it was built properly and the combination was matched, nothing even crazy, 730-750 I would see.

i just looked at this thread for the first time in a while, imo, with the combination you have i would look for closer to 650 hp,i think with the right carb, cam, and good tuning,675 -680 hp can easily be obtained.to see 700 hp,plan on spinning to 6200 rpm,not going to happen at 5500.

yes im with you guys, i figured atleast 650hp the thing that really makes me mad is when i ask the builder he acted as if well thats all we can do, ive asked him several times if a bigger camshaft would make more horsepower and he says no, that these brodix heads are whats making it down on horsepower. las for the carbs when i orig started gathering parts to build these 700hp engines, he said those would work, i let them pick the cams (my mistake) and he always claims there dyno is dead on has no magical numbers, ive learned one thing i will never and neither will any of my friend take there engines to these guys again. 16000.00 for just building two engines when i had all the parts.NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! and yes when the smoke settles i will post the name of the shop.

What heads are they? The BB2 X's are turds on an NA deal. The ports are huge for what they flow. They work alright in blower apps but they're not a great head. What's your spring pressure?

Thats what i figured these heads came off of 580ci blower motors, so i think were on the right track on the turd heads, hell if i would had kknow they were bad for n/a i would had went the other way.

I still say try what you have, you might be surpirsed by the performance. Or, just do the cam swap that others have recommended on here and run them! You have some very respectful engine builders chatting with you on this thread, why not take their advice and make a few changes?
You can't change the past, best to move forward
