I'm still trying to figure out what you can do to a carb that costs $1500.

What heads are they? The BB2 X's are turds on an NA deal. The ports are huge for what they flow. They work alright in blower apps but they're not a great head. What's your spring pressure?

the heads he got from me are brodix bb2,not bb2x.

We might get one more good one before storage.

jeff a,i am the mike mildthunder is talking about, but you are incorrect about burning a piston first time out.the fact is it burnt 3 pistons on the lake after a 5 minute run at full throttle, had a fuel delivery problem,i since have added another fuelpump and all is good.my engines dyno at 1200+.

Damn near could Jim.
If you take that and add what he originally paid for the carbs, you probably could do efi.

Hope all is well Jim. Call me if you need anything. Talk soon.

The BB-2's are a 305cc head and only flow about 300cfm @.600.
If those are the heads he's using that'll be part of the reason the power tanked so early.

mike tkach 10-18-2012 05:48 PM

could be,but with the right cam, carb and intake there is no reason that head shouldent make 650 hp at or around 5800 rpm,and i sold those heads to him at a very fair price,id say it looks like the only thing he didnt overpay for.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes Same Mike, Did I meet you in Michigan City? I was on the boat when this happened. WOT for a Loooong stretch, just got lean, took out a couple pistons. Pumps just couldnt keep up, had the $hitty fuel psi gauges worked, he woulda caught the drop in psi. Pulled Out, tore down, back up and running in a couple weeks. Since then, new pumps, and he been running the SNOT out of them.

I may be out this weekend, my boats put away, but possibly on a friends 38 Cigarette.
