Default Marine stereo units compatible with newer Apple products?

I'm looking for a new stereo unit that is compatible with at least the iPhone 4S and the new Nano. I really like the Fusion 700 series, but are there any other brands that are comparable performance-wise?

I plan on getting-
2x JL Audio MX 6.5" speakers
2X MX 7.7"
A JL M400/4 amp or maybe a JL M700/5 amp since I might add a subwoofer.

What stereo unit will allow me to get the most out of these speakers?

Thanks

Compatible in what way????

Nearly all head units will have an auxillary input jack and many have a USB input.

Most hu's have very comparable signal/noise ratios for each source. So really it depends on what features you want on the hu.

I have this one, works great with my iphone4s and includes cable. Controls iPod through face and digital remote, also includes a waterproof ir remote that works great as well.

6 RCA outputs, sub control, and adjustable gain for each input source. Great unit for the money, also charges my phone when I sleep at night

also get the M-series JL's not the MX, and if you can fit 4 7.7's will obviously be better than the 6.5's. Any high quality marine head unit will do the job, just pick the one that has the features you like. I think the Kenwood has the highest preout voltage (4V) but a few others also offer (3V) outputs.

By compatible I mean it will charge the phone and display info on what is playing. I can't fit 7.7" speakers in the back. Thanks for the suggestions.

The fusion head unit is the way to go. We have one in our boat and love it. Because the iPod slides into the receiver it keeps your iPod or iPhone safe from damage and/or water. I have a transom mounted remote which is super convenient.
