ok guys i bought a new battery 1050 cca, use my battery charger to supply 12 volts to the purple wire in the harness that goes into the ecm and still no spark wont start i also isolated the other battery while i tryed to start the motor, i did notice that the motor sounded different when it truned over when i gave the purple wire 12 volts which was really like 15 volts , sounded like the motor had a different sound when turning over like it was zinning or wining kinda but when i took off the lead to the purple wire it quit sounding like that , i did fire once at first then nothng after that , check grounds, fuses , tryed to hot wire it at the key switch still nothing any more ideas guys , thanks james, oh and not corrsion in the 10 pin plug , the wiring harness is new like 4 years ago., the tack works fine when the motor started before
I know it is basic, and maybe I missed it, but have you checked to see if the dist is actually spinning by turning the engine over with the cap off?

here is an easy way to see if your ignition system is working,,,take a test light, ground the allegator clip,,stick the pointed end on the negitive side of the coil,,,,now crank your engine,,watch the bulb in the test light,,,if the light is blinking on and off while cranking,,,,your ignition system it fine,,,

Juist an FYI I wouldn't make a habit of hooking a battery charger directly again, some battery chargers can make up to 24 volts when the resistance of a battery is not present, that will fry an ecu for sure.

Definitely check to see if the distributor is turning. My buddy's did the same thing 2 years ago and the gear broke on the cam shaft and wasn't turning the distributor. Clean break, so we just pulled it apart and installed a new cam and it has ran great.
