Default What crank? Eagle, Scat, Calias, Crower?

My brother is building a BBC for his Jet boat and asked me what crank he should use. I have heard Eagles are all over the place as far as journal measurements.

Any experiences or opinions?

Eagle and Scat are chinese junk, ask my machinist about his own drag car...
Not a place to skimp.
Callies and Crower are both good. The others are popular cuz they're cheap.

It really depends on what horsepower level he's building and how hard he runs it. Scat is great for applications within their designed stress levels. Crower and Callies are stronger units.

Adam? Thanks for the input. You know you have one of the best looking PQs on the water! Got rid of those checkers! JK

Thanks man.
It does depend on what kind of power levels you're dealing with, I just like to err on the side of overkill when it comes to engine parts. The callies in my mud racer BBC was like $2500

They are great as long as the crank snout does not break off.

Howard's makes a nice pro-series crank 4340 good for 1000hp at a good price I put them in my new dart motors .Still cost around 1200 bucks .Howard has been doing cranks rods and cam's for 30+ years.Just my 2 cents. JOHN SR
