I agree, get a take out stock roller set-up, you can get them for next to nothing.

well yes you can, but would not...merc did it on the gen VI 525sc's, just rebuilt 2 early this year, but switched to new rollers from marine kinetics...Bob did a great job making them close to stock...

yes, have to use gen VI because of timing cover, but were using a roller...

No, you'll have to use a IV or V timing set. The VI is for a step nose cam and will not work on your flat tappet. Some doubles fit inside the stock timing cover but if you have any clearance issues you can just use a good quality single, or get an aftermarket cover.

I have found a roller and springs so I think we're going that route. Anyone have a set of push rods for a Gen 6?

you said you found a gen6 block it is mage for roller cams just like the gen 5 . all your old parts should fit .ive built lots of them.

you are going to need to assemble engine and then check to see what length push rod you are going to need...
