So I'm tossing around the idea of swapping out my B&m 250 blower with a m3 sc ProCharger. A buddy of mine has this m3 that has one run since being rebuilt. It comes with all the tubing, a blow off valve, several belt and pulley styles and the intercooler. I would have to buy another carb (thinking about going with C&S), a better carb hat and intake. I would also have to relocate my p/s pump to the starboard side of my motor. I just don't know what's involved in doing this swap. I've been told the M3 is a nice blower, very efficient and also easier on parts than a roots style blower. I really don't know much about ProChargers. What do you guys think. This would obviously be a blow through carb system.
If I do this swap....my B&m blower will be up for sale. It's in great shape and would come complete with everything from the intake to K&n flame arrestor. That includes the thermostat housing, billet throttle bracket, Holley regulator, -8 fuel lines and an fittings and billet regulator bracket. The carb is a Nickerson stage 5 dominator that I had set up for my 502 with the blower. Its got about 25 hours on it since Nickerson.modified it. I'm thinking $2,700.00 + shipping for everything.

going to my more power for sure !!!! you are not supposed to run a hat on a blow thru on a boat...need carb box(have one if you need one) I love my procharger, I ran a prosystems blow thru carb and was great...experimenting with EFI for next year...only because I have all the stuff to do it now...you need a good fuel system with a return line...I run a aero A1000 pump & boost referenced regulator...good luck Rob

Great info Rob! Thankyou. I will let you know about the carb box once I've decided what I'm gonna do. Is the carb box a coast guard regulation deal? Also, what type of exhaust are you running? I have Stainless Marine and don't know if the back of the blower will clear. All the pics I've seen have tube style headers. The only part I'm not to thrilled about is that I just spent $1,400.00 on my current carb last spring. Ive read and been told the dominator is to big for a blow through system and that I need to use a 4150 Holley. The main reason for considering this swap is to cool down the intake charge. The 250 blower is fun and works well but it's a little on the small side.

yes, the pro-charger carb box is the only C/G approved one... I had great luck with my 950 prosystems carb, done just for my setup by Patrick there, less than 1k..feel free to give me a call if you wish...540-786-8111 Rob I have lightning headers and clear fine...don't see any reason the stainless ones would be any different...the intercooler and the less drag is going to make a BIG diff in power...I have run the smaller roots type before, do good, but do make a good bit of heat when making decent boost...also your carb would sell quick on racingjunk...mine did
