Best sounding Marine subwoofer. 10 or 12?
I'm looking to add to my 4 6.5 MTX speakers. I am looking for a little more bass so I can blast my 80s rock and country music louder and deeper. I see a lot of options but do you guys have any suggestions? Thanks

I had two 10s in my Sunny before. I decided to go with two downfiring 12s this summer. Holy hell, huge difference. If you have the room, go for the 12s. Night and day difference for not a lot more cost.

Box or free air?

If I do 10s it will be mounted on the cuddy kick panels, if 12s box. May do box either way.

Do a box. Free air just doesn't put out the volume or sound quality.

Definitely go with 2 12" boxes, I have 2 JL Audio 12" subs in boxes in my Velocity and it sound phenomenal.

If you have the room 12's in boxes are the way to go. I run 3 10's but just because I could not fit 12's without giving up too much storage space.

12"s in a ported box or boxes

I was going to go with 10's but my stereo guy said one 12 with how he could set it up. I was nervous at first to get enough out of it, but it is really loud. I actually have the base turned way down it is to much turned up. Here is a pic of the box.
