What blocks do I have in '93 Fountain?
I have a 1993 Fountain Lightning with stock powered Merc. 502's. What Gen. Block would these motors be?

Fixx is right. 1993 should be Gen V. Timing cover will tell the story.
I think some early 90-92 era 502 blocks were actually Mark IV bowtie blocks. Even the 502 mags. |
It should be a Gen V. If it does not have a fuel pump mount on the engine block then its is a Gen V.
If it has the fuel pump mounting spot on the block, then its a Mark IV. |
My '93 has 5's

if stock power their gen 5's or V and the timing cover wuld be steel..if they were changed the timing cover would be plastic and those would be gen 6..both 6 and 6 use the same internals except for internal valve trane,,5 is hyd flat tappet cam and liftersand 6 is hyd roller cam and lifters...1995 is the cut off date,,so a 95 boat could have either engine..
