Default 496 HO 425 h.p. hours

Assuming good oil and care, about how many hours could you expect a 496 425 h.p. engine to last if most of the hours were in the 3000-4000 r.p.m. range? Let's say a 35' stepped hull with twin engines and Bravo drives...

Default 350 HRS = head job

Lost 2 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves

Luck of the draw I'm guessing, mine was either a monday or friday motor. always ran synthetic 20W-50 oil, wix oil filter, change oil every 20-30 hrs. always had good oil pressure, motor never got over heated..

Did the valve springs fail first?
