Default Corsa Silent Choice Corsa Silent Choice Solenoid Problems

Need some help with the Corsa Silent Choice Exhaust on Formula 400, 502EFIs. The hold in portion of solenoid works on all 4, however they will not close on their own. The "pull in" or closing phase of the solenoids are not working. Is it possible that all 4 solenoids would go bad at the same time or am I missing something simple like a wire or fuse problem? Are there two fuses on the system? Suggestions; help.

Had the same problem in 1997 with a new Baja 38 Special with 500 HP's and Corsa switchables. Ended up being the fuses which were insufficient to handle the load. Switched out to larger fuses and all was fine. Try going up 10 amps in size and see if that cures it for you.

Good luck,

Steve

Also, check to see where the power is coming from to the Corsa switch. It needs to have a pretty straight shot from the positive buss with a fairly heavy guage wire. If I remember right it's a 20 amp fuse.

Had the same problem with 2 out of 4 not willing to open but holding after I opened them by hand. This on a pair of 1996 502's. This happened one weekend out of the blue. I spoke to Dennis at Corsa, he told me all they needed was adjusting. There is a piece of all thread on the front of the plunger that has two nuts on it. The nuts lock it in position. Loosen the nuts and turn the plunger (it has a wrenching flat) to move it either forward or backward. I removed the plunger from the arm, cleaned it and sprayed it with CRC. I fiddled with them long enough that the all work.
