B&M 250 rebuilds??
I have a B&M 250 that is throwing lube out the front "nose" where the upper pulley attaches. I've never opened one up before - are there seals/bearings that can be replaced at home, or do I need to send it off to a blower shop?
Thx - Steve |
THE Blower shop,
Marvin Hines, (661) 299-5483. He does 'em all.

Thanks Brad - they were going to be my first phone call this morning.

Marv Hineman @ The Blower Shop is da man when it comes to Roots Blowers.

I did the tear down tonight and it looks like it is just the front seal. I'm going to a friends house tomorrow night and press the bearing & shaft out. Should be easy enough to fix myself, so I'll order the parts from The Blower Shop.
Thanks for the help.. |
I could tell ya how but you still owe me a Formula flag!!!!! :D:D:p :p
|
I thought it was a Superboat flag. Make up yer mind! :D

It was a Superboat. However you waited so damn long that now I have a Formula and I guess that is the flag of choice :D:D:D

Along with the seal, be sure to check that your pulley is not "grooved" where it goes into the snout.....this will also cause an oil leak ;)
|
hi-perf, you're right on target. The pulley was groved too. Bad seal + groved pulley = hatch full of gear lube.
What causes the groves? |
