Default B&M 250 rebuilds??

I have a B&M 250 that is throwing lube out the front "nose" where the upper pulley attaches. I've never opened one up before - are there seals/bearings that can be replaced at home, or do I need to send it off to a blower shop?

Thx - Steve

I did the tear down tonight and it looks like it is just the front seal. I'm going to a friends house tomorrow night and press the bearing & shaft out. Should be easy enough to fix myself, so I'll order the parts from The Blower Shop.

Thanks for the help..

Along with the seal, be sure to check that your pulley is not "grooved" where it goes into the snout.....this will also cause an oil leak

hi-perf, you're right on target. The pulley was groved too. Bad seal + groved pulley = hatch full of gear lube.

What causes the groves?
