Sorry, but I dont have anything else to add to the bushing issues. However, I do have a point to bring out. How do you guys feel about those valley screens? I use to run them, then decided to stop. My thinking is that although it may not be a whole lot, they must limit the oil flow back to the pan and worse yet, linit the oil pouring onto the lifter wheels and cam lobes. Rob did all that work deburring the lifter valley, to help oil flow down. Then the oil hits a screen which is somewhat of a restriction. Then again, it is nice to keep any broken parts up in the valley and not in the pan.

Yea im mixed on the screens too,,if something breaks I figure its going to puke metal all in the motor anyway, lifter beat the cam,The other motor I didnt put the screen in, figure being used and oil inpregnated take a chance the epoxy might not hold,As bad as im about dropping stuff they might help me there
I would think the lifters get enough oil from the bores and crank slinging oil around?
The other day I saw a 1075 tore down, Merc sands and smooths/almost polishes out the hole lifter valley.Im guessing that they trying to eliminate the chance of metal particles coming off from the ruff casting, along with oil return, I know that the smooth finish doesn't dissipate the heat as much and the ruff cast does,

I never thought of that. Good point. The block I am running has had screens. The block was drilled and tapped, screens were bolted in. No glue at all. I cant find a picture, but if I do, I will post it.

I think I rebember seeing one with bolts before,I also use to put gliptal on the valley too,but no matter how anal i was cleaning it would still flake little peices, yea I sanded and polished the out side of a sbc for my chevelle once,at the time I didn't think about it ,but looked cool
the ruff cast has more surface area, prob couldn't measure the duff, lol
