Default 4 wire Corsa solenoid installation

Hi,

I recently purchased a 502 Mag MPI with the Corsa silent choice exhaust mounted. My problem is that now when the engine is going into my 2000 Baja 272 the wires doesnt match.

I have two wires to my current silent choice, and now there are 4 out of each solenoid. White, green, red and black.

These 4 wires out of each solenoid is cut, and I dont know how to get them working again. Do I need a specific wire harness? Or can I make one up to work with my current switch?

Please let me know. Any help would be very appreciated!

Regards,

Johan

Ok, I figured out this much; they have two solenoids. One pull and one hold. The pull one is very strong and uses 35 amp, while the hold only uses 0.7 amp but cant pull it.

So, I am guessing I need to rig the wiring so that the power to the hold solenoid is turned on, and then just a quick on/off for the pull solenoid. Then I just need to kill the power to the hold solenoid.

Anyone who has done this? Maybe with a specific relay?

Regards,

Johan

Hi,

It shouldnt be a problem. The harness has to turn power on to the "hold" circuit and then switch on power briefly to the "pull" circuit. A breaker with off-on-(on) should do the trick.

But, I ran into another problem; when I try my solenoids in regards to the above, they wont stay. The "pull" works fine, the "hold" doesnt work. And, since both sides wont work I am guessing I do something wrong when testing. I mean, they can both be broken, but what are the odds?

Regards,

Johan

Default same problem

I'm having the same problem, that the "hold" will not work, but the "pull" works fine. I have a new solonoid, so that is not the problem. FYI, it's only on one side of engine, so I don't think it is a wiring problem.
