Default CMI Etop question

So I have a new to me set of CMI etop with the long tails that come through the transom (forgive my ignorance but this seems to be the norm correct?) they're stock bravo location but they don't have any sort of flapper installed. Is there any way to put a flapper on them? or will there be an issue if no flapper is ran? Guy before me ran them on the same style boat no issues but I was just curious what everyone else is doing? I'm guessing being dry to the tip it's going to burn any flapper I put on there. Thanks like always!
