Well gents come to find out it was the starter, replaced it today, suppose to be in the 70's here this weekend, will attempt another first run. Thanks for all the advice.

Terry, I would check all the battery connections on both ends of the positive and negative cables with a volt meter. You may have just gotten a bad starter or something else could have caused it to fail so quickly (bad cable, ground, etc.).

You can check the starter out while out of the motor using a set of jumper cables and a screwdriver to see if its bad. Or take it to your local parts shop and see if they can bench check it. Seems odd it would puke so quick.
