Default Best prop for carrying loads?

Hey guys, 88 Baja 240 w/454 mag. I have a 24p 4 blade and a 23p 3 blade, I love the 4blade for everyday cruising 23p for top speed, but when I take a group of friends with me both give me a slow take off. The 4blade is a little better, but I feel like it bogs the motor down, like I'm over propped. The 3 blade seems under propped, the engine revs but the prop slips. What size would be in between? Thoughts?

How many RPMS are you turning on the top end?

Isnt that backwards?? I was under the impression you would use more pitch on the 3 blade and a little less on the 4 blade

That may be the case, that why I'm asking. The boat came with the 4blade, and I picked up the 3 last season from a guy online. So maybe a 25p 3blade or 23p 4?

You need to try a 22 b1 and a 23p rev 4!

Rev will be better out box, but blades could work the b1 better..

on your boat the rev 4 would be best and that prop for some reason dont give away any top speed,,may be 1 to 2 mph faster..

What about a quicksilver 25p 3 blade, guy locally has one for $175 in good shape, thought if I liked it I would buy a brand new one?

I agree . Try the revolution 23. Fix I think its the smaller diameter that makes them work well on the older boats. Rake angle to.

A 4B will always carry a load better, turning only 4600 tells me drop an inch on the pitch, that should give you a better hole shot
