A buddy of mine ... (? alum. heads?)
#1
is looking into buying some motors with alum. heads.
These motors will be new
Vortech superchargers
ProCharger intercoolers
8.8 comp
502's block
EFI by AZ Speed Shop
My ? is will he have any, some, or a lot of problems running in salt water with alum. heads? Even if he flushes everytime.
If he will what type of problems.
These motors are not self contained cooling systems.
Does the new 575 SC by Merc have alum heads.
I read on Merc's website that comp. is 7.5:1. Is it self contained?
Thanks, Mike

I can't speak from experience but I have seen posts here about aluminum intakes rotting out rather quickly in salt water, even with flushing them out. I would think twice about this one before creating a problem.

Hey Mike,
I don't know about the 575SCi but the new HP525EFI does have the aluminum Edelbrock heads however, they are hardcoat anodized which will hold up very well as you know. Eickert also does this to thier Canfield heads.
You can see the Edelbrocks at thier site.
You may want to see what they've got on there.
Later,
Dave
