The prob was the accelerator pump rod fell off onto the intake, when ti started it died i cranked it over and over , thinking it flooded , push the throttle all the way forward to clear it out(which it wasnt flooded) to have it spit back and break the starter and chip some teeth. No water in the cylinder , just a mess up by me .

Ouch! But good you have problem definition. Good luck with it.

don't think that was the cause....

Once you get the flywheel and starter replaced you should remove the spark plugs and see if water blows out of them when cranking the starter. Or else you may end up replacing an expensive US made starter next.... or worse.

I pulled the plug and headers no water, I know what happened when I shimmed the starter I stripped it thinking it would be ok, well not I should had waited till the next morning and got the correct one, if so I wouldn't be working on it today. I will post a pic of the starter and it will tell the story.

you need a decent gear reduction starter with enough torque to handle the engine, powermaster, MSD, etc...
|
I just pulled the engine and changed the ring gear, put 2 new gm gear reduction starters on, im wore out , will finish it in the next few days the engine is back in the hole all bolted down got some wires and the headers to put back on.
