ever try backing up with the shifters in reverse and while you are looking back you go to shift into forward and accidentlly grab the throttles? been there done that and scared the $hit out of me[/QUOTE]

Done that which is why I wanrt the sifters on one side and throttles on the other.

You have to remove the controls completely from the boat and do it on a bench.
