Default Gauges Light replacement

How do you get the bulb out. There is a black piece on the back of the gauge that that looks like you could grab it and twist it or something. Could not budge with fingers. Little afraid to put pliers on it. The lights are fine. I just want to replace with led.

X2 what Drock said, most gauges now are twist 1/4 turn & pull out. What brand gauges?
