Love the boat, this my second 28 heat my first was a 1998 that I built a 865 hp blown 509 and Nordic installed it when they built the boat and I never had any problems with it, I sold it to a good friend in 09 and I had this 2010 built I just wanted something turn key this time so I got the 600sci and did the whippel kit when it had 13 hour on it, so far so good no issues yet but I keep a pretty close eye on things. This boat is a little faster with less power I think because it has a step in the bottom and its a little lighter because they don't use wood any more and the drive is mounted higher. Thanks for the info I will check Max's out in a couple weeks when I'm down there doing some maintenance on the boat.
We should get together some time when I am in Havasu and have a cold one on the lake.

I've got 130 Hrs on mine, stone stock, and they run flawlessly! Couldn't be happier, and we have to idle ~20 minutes to get on plane . Just getting ready to change the oil/filters today, BTW, how does everyone get their oil filter off w/out making a mess? I just barely crack the seal on the filter, and let it "burp" it out, although it takes forever, and sometimes it will dribble... Thought about taking a punch and driving an air bleed hole in the top of the oil filter and just letting it drain out that way... Anyone try that?
Thanks,
Dean

Here is a picture of the gear oil heat exchanger that picks up lake water and cools the gear oil. It is pumped through the gear case by a 12 volt pump not seen in photo.

Dean, I watched my mechanic change the filter and he made a mess. It seems like your hole punch idea or a "burp" might work. Let me know. I recently saw where Teague Marine would take a 600 without any upgrades and rebuild it to a 509 ci motor complete with new pistons, rods, etc for 19 or 20 K. This would put the HP up over 825. Just passing along the info.

John, Give me a heads up when you are out at Havasu. I visit there fairly often. I would love to meet you.

Interior of Howard Deckboat. This is a 2007 model and very plain inside. I like it just white because it does not get as hot

Very nice boat! Would you mind posting pics of the oil pump and routing for your drive oil cooling setup? I'm in the process of designing a bypass filter and cooler on my bravo. Thx!
